Power Yoga
An athletic, fast-paced sequence that fuses traditional postures with functional movement.
Learn MoreA dynamic, heated practice that builds strength from the inside out — one breath at a time.
Hot yoga is a vigorous style of yoga performed in a room heated to approximately 37 degrees Celsius. The warmth serves a distinct physiological purpose: it raises your core temperature, increases blood flow to muscles and connective tissue, and allows for a deeper, safer range of motion than you might achieve in a cooler environment. At Nippocrat, our radiant floor-heating system distributes warmth evenly across the studio, eliminating the dry, stifling air associated with forced-air heaters and creating a comfortable, enveloping atmosphere from the moment you step inside.
Each session follows a carefully sequenced flow of standing postures, balancing poses, backbends, and floor work. The sequence is designed to systematically engage every major muscle group while steadily building cardiovascular endurance. You will hold postures long enough to feel their full effect, yet the transitions between poses keep the practice fluid and rhythmically connected to your breath. Our instructors weave clear alignment cues throughout the class, ensuring that every practitioner — regardless of experience — can move safely and with intention.
The elevated temperature accelerates your warm-up phase, meaning your muscles reach a pliable, receptive state within the first few minutes of class. This translates into noticeably improved flexibility over time, particularly in the hamstrings, hips, and shoulders. Beyond mobility, the heat encourages profuse perspiration, which many practitioners find deeply cleansing. While sweating itself does not "detoxify" the body in a clinical sense, the increased circulation and elevated heart rate deliver more oxygen and nutrients to tissues, supporting recovery and cellular renewal.
Hot yoga is also a powerful tool for mental resilience. The combination of physical challenge and sustained heat creates a controlled form of stress that teaches you to remain calm, focused, and present when conditions become uncomfortable. Over weeks and months, this cultivated composure extends well beyond the studio walls, helping practitioners manage everyday stressors with greater equanimity. Many of our students report improved sleep quality, reduced anxiety, and a heightened sense of body awareness that positively influences their nutrition, posture, and daily movement habits.
Arrive at least ten minutes early so you can settle into the warm room and acclimate before the session begins. Your instructor will welcome newcomers and offer guidance on pacing — the golden rule is to listen to your body and rest whenever you need to. It is completely normal to sit out a posture or two during your first few sessions. Hydrate well in the hours leading up to class, bring a large towel to place over your mat, and wear lightweight, breathable clothing that allows freedom of movement.
After the final savasana, give yourself a few minutes to cool down gradually before leaving the studio. Many practitioners find that a light snack and continued hydration in the hour following class help stabilise energy levels and extend the sense of calm that the practice provides.
Our hot yoga classes are open to all levels. Whether you have never unrolled a mat before or you have been practising for decades, the heated environment meets you where you are. Modifications and progressions are offered for every posture, so you can tailor the intensity to your current fitness level and goals. If you have a medical condition or are pregnant, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before attending a heated class, and our instructors are always happy to discuss any concerns before the session begins.
